Subscription Boxes Deliver Holiday Cheer All Year Long

'Tis the perfect season for subscription boxes!

Well, not just this season. Thanks to subscription boxes, we can deliver that holiday cheer throughout the year. Don’t believe us? According to Thinking Inside the Box, a report from Crimson Hexagon on how the subscription economy is changing retail, one of the main reasons people choose subscription boxes is the feeling of surprise and excitement. “Again and again, consumers posted on social about how receiving a new box in the mail — regardless of the product category — made them feel like it was Christmas morning,” the report said.

Not a bad way to make a recipient feel. And with boxes that can be sent not just once but monthly or quarterly, you can share that holiday feeling year round.  Retailers are even going out of their way to make opening the boxes a jolly experience. Travis Miller, creative director at H.U.M.A.N. Health vending, the company behind SnackNation, told Ernst Packaging that their goal is to make each “a little bit like unwrapping a Christmas present.”

Crimson Hexagon’s study divides most subscription boxes into four basic categories:  beauty, food and beverage, apparel, and pets. Think the popular brands Birchbox, Blue Apron, Stitch Fix, and BarkBox.  But because it’s the holidays, we don’t think in terms of categories, we think in terms of the recipients who will delight in receiving the boxes. So let’s roundup who’s on our “nice” lists match them to the perfect subscription box service.
