Google Executive Talks About the “Forgotten Century"

Will today’s culture be lost to future generations because the technology required to read it has become obsolete? Google vice president and internet pioneer Vint Cerf sure thinks so. According to an article in The Guardian, Cerf is advocating the creation of a “digital vellum” to preserve the old software and hardware needed to recover out-of-date files. In the meantime, Cerf advises, “If there are photos you really care about, print them out.”
